Our name came about because we do all the rivers around here. The Salmon River (Main and Lower), The Snake, The Selway, Clearwater and Lochsa.
All Rivers Shuttle Service is dedicated to providing excellence when delivering your vehicles. After 5 years of doing this, here's something I have learned based on actual events - 1. Never leave your customer stranded, if you cannot have the vehicle there for mechanical purposes or the key that was provided was not the right one, give them a way to get home or another option so they can figure out what to do.
2. If you mess up, make it right. People appreciate honesty and maybe they may not ever use ya again, but at least we were straight about it and did the right thing, and that cannot be taken away.
3. The River Folk that come from near, far, and wide are pretty connected with each other, they talk, and talk and talk and reputations can be built and destroyed in a matter of minutes. I always say ' proof's in the puddin' and there's truth to that. If you do a bad job, they'll talk about it, if you do a good job, maybe they'll talk about it, if you do an outstanding job, they will talk about it and come back every time.
4. White Bird is a town of 150 people. Outside of ranching and farming, there is zero industry here. This lil business is a blessing to the 15-20 people who work here in the summer. It carries us through the winter along with other odd jobs we all seem to have. Your business is important to us and our livelihood depends on it, so we are going to do the best we can so we can do it again the next season.
5. If you don't tell us if there is a problem, we won't know and cannot make it right. Please give us at least a chance to do this if you encounter a problem with your rig. Granted, we are human, and machines break down, but as stated before, unless we know something we can't fix it or even make an attempt. -------------------------------------------------------------------
We hire legal drivers that are responsible and professional. Our employees undergo a complete DOT physical. Many of them have driven trucks and have many years of driving experience. They understand the politics of driving safely and follow all traffic laws. We have drivers who can ride your motorcycles, RV's and oversized rigs. No one is in a hurry to get to the take out, we all follow in line and at no point ever, will we leave you or your vehicle stranded. I use drivers that can fix a tire or a trailer bearing on the road if need be. They may not look like nice polite little old ladies, but they can handle most vehicular problems that may arise.
When first arriving at your vehicle, the drivers have a pre shuttle check list. They visually inspect your vehicle checking for dents and damage. If there is something that you have not listed, our drivers will note this on your info sheet and get another to note it as well. They then make sure all lights, blinkers and electronics are working, check the brakes and tires and if you have a trailer, inspect that. You may get an e-mail or a message from the driver letting you know about something that you have not listed.
Upon arrival at the take out spot, they then will complete a post shuttle check list, making sure that your instructions are followed to a tee. (This is where you come in, please be specific in your instructions) If there is anything that you should be aware of such as strange noises or smells or something obvious, they will make a note of it on the list, and will leave a note for you. If it is something that needs great attention, (something that may prohibit you from getting home) we will attempt to have it fixed for you at the local mechanic who is excellent, a great mechanic and fair.
NOTE - If there is something wrong with your vehicle, we will make every attempt to fix it before delivering it, if it is major work then we will call your emergency contact to have it verified that it is okay to do so. If it is undriveable, and is still not fixed by the time your trip ends, we will pick you up or have a vehicle for you to drive with a trailer if necessary, in other words, you will not be stranded, or left not knowing what happened to your vehicle.
